1. Climb Mt. Washington in Northern New Hampshire. The White Mountains are rugged, scenic, and exciting. Go during the week. Thee are many hiking options over a large area. The Appalachian Mountain Club publishes an excellent guidebook.
2. Bike in Puglia, Italy. This area on the Adriatic is scenic, relatively flat, and lacking in tourists. There are many bike companies that offer trips there.
3. Ski at Snowmass in Aspen, Colorado. The area is vast; the people friendly, and there are many things to do. Stay slope side at the Mountain Chalet.4. Play golf in Bermuda. The island is lush and beautiful. It is easy to reach from Boston and New York.
