Golf Today

May 24, 2016

Tom
The drive through rural north Escondido early this morning was pleasant. The air was cool, the roads were empty, and rugged hills were invigorating. Tom Hardy and I noticed there were no flags on holes 1 and 2. I asked a workman, and he said, “ Man no come to work today,” I then called the pro shop, and they sent someone out to deliver the flags.

Eagle Crest use to be a manicured course, but things seemed to be going downhill. The fairways needed water, and a lot of vegetation was overgrown. In spite of all this we had a good day, topped off by breakfast at the Incredible Café, a terrific breakfast spot in Rancho Bernado.
