Ski Safety

With the new equipment the learning curve for new skiers and boarders is shorter than ever. There are a lot of good riders on the slopes, and there are a lot of fast riders there too! Recently in Colorado I was almost hit a couple of times by snowboarders who “flatline” down the slopes. Were I not alert I could have been severely injured. Here are some safety suggestions:

1. Bring back the “yellow jackets”.  These were safety skiers who patrolled and tried to keep skiers safe.
2. Provide more education about safety on the slopes to all patrons.
3. Enable the ski patrol to stop irresponsible skiers.
4. Have some raceway slopes for flatlining.
