A Good Martini

Martini

Use a high-grade gin like Tanqueray 10, Hendricks, or Bombay Safire

Put ice cubes in a shaker; add gin, and a touch of vermouth. Put it in the freezer next to chilled glasses. Make sure the ice in the shaker is the cube type. Chips melt too much and dilute the drink. When ready to serve, take out the shaker, shake, and pour into the chilled glasses. Add three olives on a toothpick. The Spanish olives need to be of high quality.

The key issues are:
1. The drink must be ice cold.
2. It can’t be diluted too much
3. There can’t be too much vermouth in it.
