I began to ease into the right hand lane, when a speeding pickup raced by me, forcing my Subaru back into the middle lane. The pickup then weaved in and out of traffic for the next half mile as if the driver were racing at Le Mans.

Mature drivers on the other hand see traffic as a moving community. They view themselves in relationship to other cars. Safety is important to mature drivers, and they accommodate other drivers both because it feels good and because it is safe. They are alert, they think, and they don’t take unnecessary risks.
Here is how to become a Mature Driver:1. Stay within or close to the speed limit.
2. Be aware of the maneuvers of the cars around you.
3. Make eye contact with pedestrians.
4. Use Uber or a cab, if you have been drinking.
5. Leave more time than you need to reach your destination.
6. Report reckless drivers to 911.
7. If a road rage driver tries to engage you, keep your eyes ahead and stay clear of that person.
8. Try to drive outside of rush hour times.
9. Enjoy your drive. Cars are fun!
