The weather was cold, but sunny today high in the Rocky
Mountains. Vicki and I have been
coming to this ski resort for more than thirty years. It is a vast place with
five separate areas within it. Today we skied Campground trail, a two mile run
down the backside of the mountain.
The scenery surrounding the trail is outstanding, and I never tire of running
it. After that we took lifts to the Big Burn, a vast meadow like area that is
open. A fire destroyed all the trees on the Burn many years ago. After lunch we
took the new High Alpine lift to ski Upper Green Cabin, one of my favorite
trails. Unfortunately the snow was skied off the steep sections, and the run
was difficult. All in all it was a good day.
