Recently I hear Paul Ryan say with a touch of swagger, “We play rugby and they play golf”. I would change the metaphor to one that reads both the Republicans and the Democrats play golf. I once red a vignette about president Obama playing golf. He shot a twelve on a hole, and a playing partner suggested fewer strokes for one reason or another. The President said, “ Put down a 12.”
Donald Trump claims has a two handicap. Anyone who plays golf knows how hard it is to have a ten handicap, let alone a two handicap. In a televised interview I saw some time ago, a person was claiming Mr. Trump cheated at golf. After some hemming and hawing and talking around things, he finally said, “Well everyone cheats at golf.”
