Salmon River Reflections
Floating with the river, cold and soft,
Golden meadows rising,
The eagle, bear, and moose,
Swim side by side,
Floating under the Idaho sun.
Rocks and water white, the current’s pull,
My yellow boat slipping, my heart electric,
Rocks and water, water and rocks,
Submerged like the steelhead under the Idaho
