Last night in Olympia I saw the movie, “All Saints”, for the refreshingly low senior rate of $8.00. The movie tells the true story of an Anglican priest who befriends and cares for a group of Karen refugees from Myanmar. In the process, he learns about himself and others.
Though somewhat simplistic and idealized, the movie is timely in light of what is going on in the United States. Not only does it raise many questions about the administrations’ stance on refugees, but it reinforces the values of courage, compassion, altruism, and adherence to principle, values which seem to be lacking in the G.O.P.
