It has been a while since I have been to the Backroom of the Night Owl in Columbia Falls, Montana. If you ski Whitefish, you must make the pilgrimage to the Night Owl, which has to be one of the last places of its kind in the West.
The restaurant serves big portions of ribs and chicken to hungry locals dressed in jeans and cowboy hats. The pitchers of Bud are cheap and ice cold. The place radiates a lot of good energy, and it provides a cultural experience in addition to good, hearty food.
