The Value of Criticsm

I once held a leadership position and had to work closely with a board. One member of the board frequently opposed my ideas. Initially I was upset, but over time I came to value the person's comments as they gave me valuable feedback about what I was proposing. It helped me sharpen up my thinking and see where I needed to improve. I came to have a good relationship with my "adversary", who helped me become a better leader.
