Today at Fairbanks
The air has a chill to it at 6:20 this morning in the San
Dieguito River Valley. After a breakfast
mulligan I hit a good ball into the center of the fairway of the Lakes Course.
Mist rose from the water as I drove my cart onto the fairway.
Two hours and eight minutes later I was through with my
round. I had seen only one other golfer on the course. The grounds keepers I
encountered were friendly and accommodating. With no distractions I improved as
I went from hole to hole. I chatted with Mike and Jeff, cart men, before
driving the four miles to my home.
