Yesterday I saw this movie in a full theatre in Dedham, Massachusetts. It is a long film that I found slow at times, but overall It was absorbing and rewarding. The three stars were Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, who directed the film as well as starred in it, and Sam Elliot. Their performances were outstanding. Bradley Cooper sang and played the guitar like a true country star.Lady Gaga’s performance was award winning. She and Bradley Cooper had authentic chemistry, and she was powerful in her role as a rising star. Sam Elliot, as usual, was solid and understated.
See this movie sooner than later. It is complicated and sad but meaningful and poignant.
