The Post

I recently saw the movie The Post starring Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks. The film tells the story of Katherine Graham's decision to print the Pentagon Papers when she was the publisher of the Washington Post, the family newspaper she took over following the death of her husband.

Under tremendous pressure from her own board and Nixon's people Mrs. Graham and her courageous editor, Ben Bradlee, struggle to do the right thing. The movie is relevant today in light of Trump's antipathy toward the press or anyone who criticizes him.

Psychologists will find Mrs. Graham's struggle and consequent growth interesting and enlightening. The actors do a great job, and the script is excellent.
